Owolabi Jamiu Falana: Rising star in education, youth development

One of the youngest permanent board members of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LA-SUBEB), Owolabi Jamiu Falana has continued to advance his professional and academic achievements.

Recently, he became a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the largest multidisciplinary professional institute in Nigeria.
Additionally, Falana completed the Public Policy Analysis certificate course at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he engaged with global case studies and developed practical skills for policy-related projects.


Owolabi Falana grew up from the esteemed Falana family in Mushin, Lagos State, Nigeria. OJ Falana as he fondly called, has been marching towards greatness since his childhood days, marked by impactful leadership and admirable qualities that endeared him to his peers. He pursued higher education in Economics at Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics in Ukraine, graduating with first-class honors.

He furthered his education with a Master’s degree in Public Management from Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, and is an alumnus of the FATE Foundation Entrepreneurs Program (AEP60).

Owolabi Falana’s unwavering dedication to excellence has led him to make significant contributions to youth engagement and nation-building. His career is marked by overcoming challenges from his modest background with determination and resilience.

Before his appointment to LA-SUBEB, he held key positions in various organizations, including Administrative Manager at Kenako Ukraine, European Regional Representative for STUNTS Group LLC, and Marketing Manager at Wealthteam Properties Ltd. In 2016, he founded Ohjay Group, a fast-growing construction and project management company in Nigeria.

His journey is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence. His contributions to youth engagement and nation-building continue to inspire others, elevating him as a lighthouse of leadership and commitment in the educational sector and beyond.
